Author: Sinterklaas is coming to town!
Every year Sinterklaas comes to the Netherlands to celebrate his birthday on 5 December. Sinterklaas (Sinterklaas is not the same as Santa Claus) is a special celebration for children only. The children will get, just like with Santa Claus, presents on Sinterklaas birthday. Sinterklaas lives in Spain and typically arrives 3 or 4 weeks before his birthday. Last Saturday, we went to Delft Centrum to celebrate Sinterklaas arrival.

Sinterklaas is coming to town! In The Netherlands every year on December 5, they will celebrate Sinterklaas. Sinterklaas is not the same as Santa Claus and a special celebration for children. In December 2007 we enjoyed it with my parents in law but this year 2008, only with my mother in law. See Sinterklaas pictures.
